Ways to Give
Dana Point Historical Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with a Federal Tax ID #33-0359288. Donations to the Society are tax deductible.
Individual Cash Donations
- Credit card donations can be made online or in person at our Museum.
- Donations by check can be mailed to the Society at PO Box 544, Dana Point, CA 92629.
- Grants from a donor-advised fund (DAF).
- If you're 70 ½ or older, you can give a Qualified Charitable Distribution from an IRA, satisfying the required minimum distribution while excluding the amount from your taxable income.
- Donations through an employer matching program, if available from your employer.
Non-Cash Donations
- Donations of appreciated stocks or mutual funds which can avoid capital gains taxes while allowing a deduction for the fair market value.
- Donations of real estate, vehicles, artwork or other valuable assets, which can provide significant tax benefits.
Planned Giving
- Naming the Society as a beneficiary in your will or trust.
- Naming the Society as a beneficiary in your retirement accounts, including an IRA, 401(k) and pension plan.
