November Field Trip to USS Iowa and Harbor Fire Museum

The Dana Point Historical Society invites you to join our annual field trip on Friday, November 10, 2017, to visit the spectacular battleship USS Iowa, located in nearby San Pedro, California.

We are offering two tours.  The “Agility Tour” includes extensive walking, climbing of stairs and scaling ladders throughout the ship.  The “Leisure Tour” includes a complete tour of the battleship on the main level with the possibility of another level for those able to negotiate some stairs.

A seated $25 lunch in the Officers’ Mess is included in the price.

Following the tour of the USS Iowa, we will stop at the Los Angeles Harbor Fire Museum — Old Fire Station 36 (operated by the Los Angeles Fire Department Historical Society), just minutes away from the battleship.

Our day begins by meeting at the Strands Beach parking lot at 8:30 a.m.  Our bus departs at 8:45. Following the USS Iowa tour, lunch and Fire Museum visit, we will arrive back at the Strands Beach parking lot at approximately 4 p.m.

Reservations are $65 per member and $75 for non-members, payable by check, money order or cash. Space is limited to 55 people. Reservation deadline is Saturday, November 4.
