A photo of the Dana Point harbor taken in December of 1960 has been donated to the Historical Society by the Honorable Bruce W. Sumner. The photo, a view from the Headlands looking east toward Doheny State Beach, provides a perspective no longer available. Curlew Receives Historic Designation

On Monday, October 19, the Dana Point Planning Commission approved historic designation for Curlew, a 1926 Schooner moored in the Dana Point harbor. The commissioners started the meeting with a site visit aboard Curlew, adjourned, and then reconvened at the Council Chambers for the remainder of the meeting. The Historical Society worked with the owner, Bob Harrison, of the Curlew, to have the 1926 schooner listed on the Dana Point Historical Register. Next on the agenda is national listing.
