1929, Woodruff

Mills Act: Yes

Due to the generosity of the current owners, this home was featured on the 2006 DPHS Home Tour, “A Step Back in Time”.  The 1929 original Woodruff home was built as a one-story, hand trowelled stucco frame house in a rectangular plan, covered with a low pitch tile roof. The
addition of a den on the lower level and an entire upper level has expanded the home an additional 700 square feet that includes three bedrooms and 2.5 baths. A shed roof porch with stucco arches provides an entrance to the front door and shades one front window. The second story edition is designed to match the original architecture and roof line. The charming interior features an antique fireplace surround in the living room and Mexican tiles in the kitchen and bathroom. Hand painted flourishes adorn the walls and lintels of the interior doorways. The rear garden features a large deck and established tropical landscaping with banana trees and a Canary Island palm. A street to alley lot location allows access to the two car garage from the alley.
