This unique Spanish Colonial Revival home is built in an “L” plan to take advantage of a corner lot and unimpeded coastline view to Oceanside and beyond. Featured on the 2008 DPHS Annual Home Tour, “A Romantic Stroll through Historic Homes & Gardens on the Bluff above Dana Point Harbor”, the home anchors one end of this lovely street. The architectural features include hand-trowelled stucco walls, a red clay barrel tile roof and a second-story balcony supported by heavy timber beams on one side with French doors allowing direct access from bedrooms. An entry patio accessed by the original and unusual center opening front door is enclosed by a stucco garden wall. An outer drought tolerant front garden is designed by Jana Ruzicka of Laguna Beach with river stone designs and curved brick walkways. Treasured by its owners, this Woodruff home has become a familiar and favorite landmark due to its prominent location across from the City’s Heritage Park.
