2017 Festival of Whales

2017 Festival of Whales

This year’s Festival of Whales will take place on March 4-5 & 11-12.  The Dana Point Historical Society will once again have an outreach booth at Art in the Park, located at the corner of Island Way and Dana Point Harbor Drive, each day of the festival. Volunteers will be needed for two-hour shifts, starting at 9 a.m. each day.  Please contact Max Brown at DPHSNewsletter@gmail.com or at 949-248-8121 if you would like to volunteer to sell merchandise and provide membership information.

Our members will guide individuals on our FREE Dana Point Historical Society Walking Tour of Town Center, on March 4 & 5, beginning at 2 p.m. Meet at the newly restored Coastal Kitchen restaurant (formerly the Blue Lantern Café) on the corner of Blue Lantern and PCH.  See and hear the stories of historic landmarks, S. H. Woodruff’s 1920s planned community and Bluff Top harbor views, c. 1818 to 1939, that represent the area’s early history.  The tour is open to the public. Groups are also welcome to make special tour arrangements on the following weekend, March 11 & 12, by calling 949-248-8121 or emailing DPHSNewsletter@gmail.com.

AND look for Society members and guests aboard a Dana Point City trolley making its way down the PCH parade route on Saturday morning, March 4, at 10 a.m.!
